AFAIK The playlists are 'backed up' (saved) on your account. The data (the actual music files) are stored on your device (if you've downloaded them of course!) What you are seeing is that the link between your playlists and the actual files is lost. That happens regularly to me (and I'm not flashing differerent ROMs) - its a bug. If you click the options, you can select 'remove download' and once you've done that, the download will no longer exist in your phone's storage, but it will remain saved in your Spotify library, so you don't need to clear your cache or data at all. Hope this helps anyone who may be confused! How to Download a Playlist from Spotify Open Spotify, and select Your Library at the bottom. Select Playlist at the top, then select the Playlist you'd like to download. Set the Download toggle switch to On for the playlist.

Tap Home .
Tap Settings .
Switch Canvas (under Playback) off.
